The Alton was Britain's very first greenhouse specially designed for the domestic market back in 1921. The modern Alton has a pedigree stretching back more than 80 years and has earned itself a reputation for innovative design, robust construction and outstanding durability. Made from the highest quality Western Red Cedar, Alton greenhouses are stronger than most aluminium, give better heat retention and are far more resistant to wind damage. In addition, all Alton cedar is dipped in a preservative treatment to ensure minimum maintenance and long life.

Popular Greenhouse

The Alton Popular greenhouse is a single size traditionally designed 6'4" x 8' greenhouse, made from the same high quality Western Red Cedar as the other models in the Alton range. The most competitively priced of Alton's range, it nevertheless shares many of the standard features, such as a roof vent, full length glass panels and a preservative treatment.

Octagonal greenhouses

The Alton octagonal is available in four sizes (6 x 6, 6 x 8'6, 8'6 x 8'6 and 8'6 x 11) and is designed for erecting on concrete base kerbs. A variety of interior staging and shelving formats can be achieved using Alton's specially designed system. A "glass to ground" option is now available for this range (picture not yet available).

Victorian greenhouses

Few would argue with the fact that the Victorians knew a thing or two about elegance. The new cedar greenhouse from Alton is a celebration of classic Victorian style. Manufactured, delivered and installed by skilled craftsmen, an Alton Victorian can transform your leisure time and become a focal point of your garden.

The high 45 degree roof pitch and the tall narrow panes provide distinctive style. Extra height in conjunction with good ventilation provided by climate controlled automatic roof vents ensures more air is circulating - a must for healthier plants and more produce.

Victorian greenhouses

The Alton Victorian is crafted using only the highest quality Western Red Cedar from sustainable sources. The cedar is then treated with either a natural golden honey preservative, or coated in a special white or green paint to look superb in any garden setting.
